Learn More About Laura Loyd Rogers

Laura Loyd Rogers started her career in this industry when she was 19. She worked part-time for a local jeweler while she attended the University of Northern Iowa to obtain a BA in Elementary Education. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and taught Kindergarten but she missed the excitement of assisting people in finding the perfect engagement ring or gift.

She returned to Cedar Falls, Iowa and worked for a national jewelry chain. Then, she transferred back to her original store and was quickly promoted to manager at the age of 24. After that, she decided to attend the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California to obtain her Graduate Gemology degree.

After graduating, she accepted a position as the head gemologist for a South African diamond house in Chicago. There, she was responsible for grading and sorting parcels of diamonds as they came in from overseas.

She gradually worked her way up at the diamond house and became a sales rep of loose ideal cut diamonds as well as head gemologist. These responsibilities gave her the opportunity to combine different elements of the jewelry experience into one dream store. This was when the concept for Laura Loyd Jewelers was born.
